The hotel is great! Super quiet and very clean.
It’s a few minutes walk from the main station which is convenient.
We came for one night (May). There are three types of (daily) parking – hotel garage parking (30€), hotel garage (500 meters from hotel, 20€), and street parking which is up to 10€ (parking from 8pm to 8am is free). We parking on the street.

We checked the reviews and didn‘t book online because the reviews weren’t convincing.
When we arrived we were given a price of 390€ and we didn’t take it because on Agoda it was 300€ and thats how we booked it at the lobby. The older lady working at the reception already started making comments on it in Italian. Pretty rude for the hospitality industry.
Then we were told how to get to the parking. IT IS NOT AT THE SPOT as it says on booking. We were driving there and is a nightmare of a place. When we got there our parking spot was full of glasses someone had smashed a beer bottle and glass was everywhere. After two days no one cleaned it and we reported it immediately. They said thank you never sorry or did something about it and we were charged 40€ for two days, no matter the inconvenience.
Then, the room 116. Right in front of the 1st floor stairs.
We went in everything looked nice. Good appliances, clean and fresh. We thought its okay for the price paid BUT first night and 6 at the morning THERE WAS WATER LEAKING FROM THE CEILING right in our legs and that is how we woke up. The strange noise and the wet feeling in the legs.
We went downstairs to report and of course ask for another room. They said they gonna report it and then when we came back from sightseeing the second shift said they know nothing.
After saying that they will arrange another room they came up with something like a plumber was already there and fixed it.
We told them another room would keep us there for another two days, apparently they thought we’re not going to leave but we did. Just a bit of politeness and fairness from the hotel management would have brought us all to understanding of such situations but their lack of respect and action says it all. Another hotel built on an old building structure ran by people who don’t care on nothing else but profit.
We left earlier over the huge disappointment from this hotel. Check the pictures.

Very nice and friendly staff; ladies at the reception were super nice and helpful. Breakfast was nice too with diverse options (pancakes/waffles; eggs and bacon; freshly baked bread; brioche; cornflakes; cold cuts; cheese; salads and i think i also saw some vegan options ….). Room was nice and ok; the best part was really really big bed and comfortable mattress. As I was traveling with car garage was a huge plus (good price), supermarket 1min of walk, many restaurants around – just few minutes of walk. The city itself is calm and safe and perfect to start the exploration of Cinque Terre. Recommend. 5/5.

The Poet Hotel is absolute value for money.
Located not far from La Spezia station, it helps when you plan multiple day trips.
The room was spacious and the breakfast was decent, even though the selction could be broadened.

Very nice normal hotel, service was excellent, breakfast good before your day trip.
Price quality and place very good.
Normally with car rental, but now all by train, Cinque Terre, Genoa all easy to reach.
We find one the best restaurant in La Spezia, so we are happy
