Cinque Terre

Cinque Terre

The region of Liguria houses the Cinque Terre or the five towns. It is a series of five old fishing villages which are Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore. All these villages hang up high on the cliff with a beautiful view of the surrounding coastline and the Mediterranean Sea. Access is limited via tracks, boats, and trains. The best way to explore the Cinque Terre is by hiking the trails and going through narrow mountain roads.  The Cinque Terre is one of Italy’s best gems as it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and boasts of terraces filled with grapes and olives. It also features vibrant and colorful houses near the harbors of their corresponding villages. Along the coastline, you will also find medieval fortresses and vines that make the whole scene even more breathtaking. Adding to its allure, the villages are secluded from the rest of the world. The cliffs make for a scenery only found at the eastern end of the Italian Riviera.  While the Cinque Terre isn’t as isolated as before, the comfortable feeling of an authentic Italian coastline remains ever-present. With the preserved architecture of colors and cliffside views of the ocean, it’s a place you wouldn’t want to miss.
