The Pantheon

The Pantheon

The Roman Pantheon, completely known as the Pantheon of Agrippa, is another architectural site dating back to ancient Rome. It was built under the rule of Hadrian and was a replacement for the original Pantheon of Agrippa that was destroyed in a fire in 80 AD. What makes the Pantheon unique, aside from its history, is its dimensions. It has the same diameter and height at 43.5 meters. At the top of the dome is a 9 diameter hole that allows light to come through the Pantheon. Within its walls, there are tombs of Italian kings and art pieces, including that of Raphael.
