Hi Payal here is a short intro how we have designed your tour.

We have created this page for you, and your family to use at your trip. 🙂 We will delete the page afer. Some of the advices will applied to pages at our page due to we are doing changes all the time, and creating pages etc.

We are exited to give some advice for you. How you can travel to and in Italy. And we have been doing some small changes to try to fulfill what we believe you would like to experience.  IF! you decide to go to the Palio, i belive you need to start the travel about 28/29 juni.

Because you did not give any eksakt date i just made some suggestions with aprox. dated. you need to ajust them before order so it can fit your plan.

We have also added other tips that we really have a strong opinion would help you have a grate and safe trip.

I have tried to figure out what literature you should bring at the trip. Get  This book about Florence and Tuscany before you go, in order to be prepared. Here you can look up almost everything you need to know about places in Tuscany.  🙂  Or you can just use GotoItaly.com.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_raw_html]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[/vc_raw_html][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text el_class=”tips”]

Due to its nature I would like to point out some travel tips before traveling.

If you decide to travel by train we recommend getting if you don’t have. You may purchase missing items now and it will come in the mail very soon and you are ready to travel .

Depending on what your needs are, you might also consider headphones if you don’t have any.

Security is also important to think of when you travel. One of my friends were just pickpocketed in Italy. I guess you have insurance today. (?)

Anyway I would recommend you to invest in a few travel equipment for staying safe.

I would suggest if you don’t have a proper backpacker bag, you should get one of the pacsafe.com due to they have really nice anti-theft safety features you can read about here. If you have one at leased to keep the most valuable things in. And maybe buy a smaller bag, to,have around the chest aswell (you can share on who is carrying what) this way you spread the risk of loosing all in case of pickpockets.

I see they have a 10% discount campain on the first purchase at the site.

I also want to add that Gotoitaly.com recommend putting rings, gold, and jewelries at home, no need to bring it to Italy.[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner How to get to Italy

There are really two options for you, either by plane, or by train. I have been looking around at plane and as you see from Frankfurth to Rome prices start at about 600 euro for all 3 of you. We have looked at other airports too. but the price in this period 5-6 days, seem to be close to 1000 euro realistically for the family back and forth. If you go by plane, the best option seem to be up towards 2 hours. Other ones are 4 and 5 hours. This plane ticket is probably the cheapest one from Frankfurth but it don’t fit with your period of 5- 6 days. You can of course play around  and see if you find suitable days, since you have not specified exact days you want to  stay.

This mean that i have decided to focus on a train travel in my proposal. (due to it is ca 50% off compared to plane).  And i also decided that Sicily and Venice have to wait till other time, due to there is not enough time. I have replaced it with Milan. And I believe that it is very thigth schedule too, for you now when it is only 5-6 days. (if you decide to go by plane anyway, you can go to Milan by plane and continiue the sheduele from there).

It is important that you prepare food to bring on the train because you will need that. Also entertainment especially for the youth. (netflix etc. remember to get a Power bank for the trip, and bring headphones. Normally you can charge on the trains, but it is important these days) Look over the italian check list

There will  be a pause in Zurich HB. There is a Coop shop close to the railway station. You can go there to buy food to have supplies for the rest of the trip. I think the 1 hour and 29 minutes waiting time might be to big risk to start ordering food. But if you rather want to order food to be prepared while you are at the train there are you can call them from the train for example these restaurant around the station. And ask them to have the food ready, and you might make the deadline.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]The train Option from 270 Euro for all 3 persons to Milan

I have prepared train from Frankfurt to Milan. Remember the prices migth change as time goes.  So if you decide to do this, i reccomend just to buy it now.[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_btn title=”TO Milan” color=”danger” align=”left” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fgotoitaly.com%2F3hte|title:Proposal%20for%20Train%20to%20milan|target:_blank”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

If you choose to do the train you will be in Milan in the evening.

When you look at the train as a part of the journey. the sceneries and the impressions of lake and mountains, I have evaluated it and I think you won’t go to the lakes at this trip. I assume that this tour we focus on  the main attractions. 5-6 days are not enough to do everything…

.

If you go by train ticket we found for you, you save somewhere around 50% for the whole family back and forth.  Compared to plane tickets.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text el_class=”tips”]Since you arrive in the evening this mean you have to have a hotel, or place to sleep ready for when you get there.

I have tested 2 hotels close to Milan Centrale. The prices are OK, they have a very “hot spot” location and could probably charged more.
The most important is that it is really close to Milan central.

  1. Star hotels Andersons is recommended, because it is renewed. and this is a very beautifully done.
  2. Glam hotel is also a good option for you. Take a look and see if the price might be cheaper there  for the dates you are interested in.

The area around Milan is very famous for its grate lakes.

Because you have only 5-6 day to travel you need to priority what you want to do.

Consider you have a 9 year old with you also need to evaluate, this is not easy from my point. But IF you are going to see the “last supper” (which I highly recommend) you should order that tour under TODAY . They only let in few people at the time and  the waiting to get in to see that picture can be from 1 week to months.  So IF you are going to see it, you should order as fast as you can. (!) As you see that tour have 4426 reviews and a 4,5 star rating. (!)

Duomo De Milan is a very special building where the marble stones are shaped and the tour I have suggested under contain a tour to the roof top. It is nice. You must remember to eat in between. My suggestion is Peck

Quite close to Dumo De Milan. It is run by Cracco and they have huge amount of fresh food you can get served as a nice “picnick” at the table.

When you are done in the area, you should use the metro to get back to train station.

It is unfortunate you have not better time to investegate the Sforza Castle and gardend.

But ofcourse you can do what you want. You can read in our blog about Milan here

My next suggestion is to go to Florence. Don’t leave too late from Milan, I think you should go for the 16.40 train to Florence as shown under. Then you get to Florence 18.35. if you do that train.

NB!!! Go off at Florence S.M.N. Reguarding food and eating proper meal in Italy.

I have to stress that ordering a table is important. Wear nice clothes; when the restaurant have provided a location and prepeared all with a well planned menue it is expekted that the guest play their part aswell. For Guests who understand this it is lightly they get better service than persons who don’t know how to play their part. Do you’re selves a favour by booking a table before you go, and prepare. If you don’t do it you might risk that they don’t have available space for you.

This is a Michelin that is trending. Kunnubio you deffenetly want to order ahead.

This restaurant is traditional food Italian style.

Just find a place fitting you as a family here is a map.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”DAY 3 : The main attractions of Florence.”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]When you wake up in Florence:

Go to the impressive Dumo-group (Santa Maria del Fiore) , go to the top of Kampanile. I would suggest this attraction deserve a guided tour. The building are of big historical matter. The construction work and the big monument at the top was “braking- edge tecknology” when they finnished the church in 1436 AD, they had worked from 1296 AD achive it. I costumize some tours for you in row below.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_raw_html]JTNDZGl2JTIwZGF0YS1tdXNlbWVudC13aWRnZXQlM0QlMjJXREY1OTclMjIlM0UlM0MlMkZkaXYlM0U=[/vc_raw_html][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]After lunch I suggest you go  to see the Uffizi, this used to be offices as the name imply (Uffizio =Office). Ofcourse it was the Office of Medichis. Now it is a grate museum hosting ; Giotto, Botticelli, Leonardo Da Vinci, Rafael, Tizian and more. This is the renesanse art at its best, there are 1700 different pices in the gallerie and even 1400 more in the store.

This is a important place to go to when in Florence. Guided tours Here .

Otpion to go to Pisa

If you don’t manage to schedule to reach the Palio in Siena.

I suggest to stay one more day in the hotel you choose for first night.

In the morning (Day 4)  take the train to Pisa.

Due to the tours should be longer time period to reach over all I just wan’t to mention some of the stuff i have decided not to eloborate.  If you had longer time to use on the tour i would recomend renting a car here.

Since we need to prioritize the plan. I suggest you go on the train to Pisa since that was at your wishlist.[/vc_column_text][vc_btn title=”Florence to Pisa” color=”danger” align=”left” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Ftp.media%2Fr%3Fmarker%3D332681%26trs%3D147485%26p%3D1935%26u%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Fwww.raileurope.com%252Fen%252Fjourney%252Fflorence-s-m-n-pisa-centrale-1c51p2x|target:_blank”][vc_custom_heading text=”Now you are in Pisa” font_container=”tag:h2|font_size:60px|text_align:center”][vc_column_text]When in Pisa, you have to see the leanig tower that you came for.  The surronding buildings also have grate history. You need to consider the time window. But if you were early up in the morning on the train you can have a guided tour .

Traditional food is served here

Remember to order tables. 🙂 This is a old restaurant with famous traditional food.

After this you need to go to Rome if you are going to reach Rome at this tour. so if you want to do Rome this time, please dont be much later than 15.00.[/vc_column_text][vc_btn title=”Pisa to Rome” color=”danger” align=”left” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Ftp.media%2Fr%3Fmarker%3D332681%26trs%3D147485%26p%3D1935%26u%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Fwww.raileurope.com%252Fen%252Fjourney%252Fpisa-centrale-rome-termini-10xh4td%253Foutbound%253D18bafc-71f410-d1d71b%2526leg%253Doutbound|title:Pisa%20to%20Rome|target:_blank”][vc_single_image image=”8476″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″ css=”.vc_custom_1652632746545{background-color: #81d742 !important;}”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1652650272567{background-color: #81d742 !important;}”]

All theese things should you do in Rome… but i dont think you will manage all without extending the vacation some more days.

At the webpages to the left you can read about the different destinations and about Rome.

From my point of view you would need about 3 days minimum in Rome to start getting a picture.
I think the Sistine Chapel and The Vatican are most important.

You can get hop-on hop-off buss to try to grasp it and get a overview.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]This is one of my favorit hotels in Rome.[/vc_column_text][vc_raw_html]JTNDc2NyaXB0JTIwc3JjJTNEJTIyaHR0cHMlM0ElMkYlMkZ3d3cudHJhdmVscGF5b3V0cy5jb20lMkZjaGFuc2V5JTJGaWZyYW1lLmpzJTNGY3VycmVuY3klM0RldXIlMjZ2JTNEMSUyNm1hcmtlciUzRDMzMjY4MSUyNnRycyUzRDE0NzQ4NSUyNmhvc3QlM0RzZWFyY2guaG90ZWxsb29rLmNvbSUyNmxvY2FsZSUzRGVuJTI2bm9ib29raW5nJTNEJTI2cG93ZXJlZF9ieSUzRHRydWUlMjZob3RlbF9pZCUzRDMwMjQ5MSUyMiUyMGNoYXJzZXQlM0QlMjJ1dGYtOCUyMiUyMGFzeW5jJTNFJTNDJTJGc2NyaXB0JTNF[/vc_raw_html][vc_column_text]This is another hotel i tried and it is a good hotel, but quite different than the first one.[/vc_column_text][vc_raw_html]JTNDc2NyaXB0JTIwc3JjJTNEJTIyaHR0cHMlM0ElMkYlMkZ3d3cudHJhdmVscGF5b3V0cy5jb20lMkZjaGFuc2V5JTJGaWZyYW1lLmpzJTNGY3VycmVuY3klM0RldXIlMjZ2JTNEMSUyNm1hcmtlciUzRDMzMjY4MSUyNnRycyUzRDE0NzQ4NSUyNmhvc3QlM0RzZWFyY2guaG90ZWxsb29rLmNvbSUyNmxvY2FsZSUzRGVuJTI2bm9ib29raW5nJTNEJTI2cG93ZXJlZF9ieSUzRHRydWUlMjZob3RlbF9pZCUzRDMwMTMwNCUyMiUyMGNoYXJzZXQlM0QlMjJ1dGYtOCUyMiUyMGFzeW5jJTNFJTNDJTJGc2NyaXB0JTNF[/vc_raw_html][vc_column_text]
