Trevi Fountain

Trevi Fountain

The Trevi Fountain with a length of 20 meters and a height of 26 meters, is the largest in Rome. It was built in 19 BC and finished by Giuseppe Pannini in the middle 17th century. The Trevi Fountain is derived from Tre Vie or three ways, signifying the fountain being the convergence of three streets.

The fountain is also known for the myth surrounding it where if you throw one coin, you will return to Rome. If you throw two coins, you will fall in love with an Italian. If you throw three coins, you will marry the person you met. Also, you must throw the coin with your right hand over your left shoulder. Because of this, the fountain receives millions worth of coins every year. The collected coins are then donated to charity.
