You can choose to use the trip as it is, starting in Catania and ending in Palermo, or turn it around and go the opposite way, maybe depending on your flights. Either way, if you decide to do the full trip, it will be a busy itinerary. If you have any special needs or desires, you can make it easier by skipping parts of the day, in case you don’t have enough time to do the full five-day itinerary at such a speed. Remember, the most important thing is to have fun and enjoy yourselves. This tour can be combined with other itineraries in Sicily.
Start in Catania, tour the historic city center and visit the Piazza del Duomo, the Castello Ursino and the Benedictine Monastery in Piazza Dante. Drive to Taormina and check-in at this historical Hotel. It is renewed over the last years and still kept its historical charm. Visit the Ancient Theatre and enjoy panoramic views of the Ionian Sea.
Drive to Syracuse and explore the ancient Greek and Roman ruins, including the Theater, Roman Amphitheater, Catacombs of San Giovanni and the Archaeological Park of Neapolis. Check-in at a budget hotel Casa Mia, and end the day with a dinner of traditional Sicilian cuisine.
Head to Agrigento and tour the Valley of Temples, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Check-in at the Hotel Puntamajata and relax on nearby sandy beaches.

First day: Catania Airport : Fontanarossa
You need a car, and we suggest this option.
If you want to follow this 5-day plan, you should rent a car. It’s better to rent the car now to get a good deal. We have a good rental option for you below. You could use a bike to do the tour, but it will probably take longer than 5 days for most people.
Don't forget to check the rental car before you leave the rental place!
Book a table for dinner that night in Torre del Benaco while you're in Verona.
We suggest you book table at a restaurant before levaing Verona.
To make sure you have a table and food in the evening, you should book a restaurant before leaving Verona. We have a list of recommended restaurants in Torre del Benaco. We suggest assigning one person to book a restaurant each day. If you are not too big group, you can do the order when you arrive. Also, remember to wear something nice for these events.
The first leg is by train: Verona - Peschiera del Garda.
This (button above) is where you find your train ticet both ways. Speak to the train conductor before you bring bike on train.
Use the train to get from Verona to Pescheira del Garda. This way you save power and get a enjoyable train ride. It is aprox. 15 minutes train travel. You should be there between 12 and 13.
Get off at Pescheira del Garda, follow the map to Torri del Benaco
Follow this map towards Torri del Benaco. The bike should take you about 1,5 hour (zoom in)
When you arrive at Torri del Benaco, find the hotel you booked.

When checked in take a look around, and relax.
This hotel has everything you need after a long day. However, you can choose a different hotel if you prefer. We believe you deserve a modern and nice hotel with a pool and spa after working hard today. If you want to explore, there is an olive oil farm nearby. Click here for more information. There is plenty of time to investegate things in the town or in the hotel it is up to you and your travelpartners for the rest of that day.
After you relax, we recommend taking a taxi to town for dinner, and taxi back.
Day two: another great day by Lake Garda ahead.
This hotel has a great breakfast. Bring a packed lunch for later. We’ll bike for 2.5 to 3 hours, with an optional stretch. You are supposed to reach Riva Del Garda in the evening. You will also do some things on the way, that take some time, so we wont reach there before the evenig. Leave the hotel about 10 – 10.30
The person respondsable for booking a dinner table should do it before you leave the hotel. Riva Del Garda has some Michelin restaurants, Theese must be order well in advance if you want to experience them. There are many nice places to eat in Riva del Garda, take a look here.
You also need to eat some lunch along the road, but we leave this to you to find on the go.
Option: go to Creo to see the petroglyphs
The Petroglypfs in Creo is along todays biking journy. The 8000 years old petroglyphs, this can be seen in the Creo Area.
This will cause some uphill biking and a beautiful view. On the other hand, some of the petroglyphs are normally put in the castle of Scaligero that you will be able to go to later.
If you do it or not depend on the wishes in your group. If you decide to do this, there will be a little less time to do the cable car experience.
Ride the bike to Malcesine!

Purchase the ticket here or manually when you are there. IMPORTANT: You need to be there on time, minimum 15 minutes before the scheduled time. They may not let you in if you are too late. Park the bike somewere safe before going up.
Head for Riva del Garda
On the top of Mount Baldo, there are places to eat and hiking trails that you can enjoy. Once you have taken enough Instagram-friendly pictures and selfies, go back to Malcesine and continue towards Riva del Garda. Make sure to leave by 5:00 PM (17:00) at the latest. If you decide to see the petroglyphs, the accessible castle you need to visit is here. However, you should be back from the mountain preferably much earlier since the castle closes at 18:30 from May 1st to October 1st. It is closed in wintertime. You can purchase tickets at the entrance.

Day 3: Limone & Lakeside Adventures
Arco Castle is a ruin that is 1000 years.
This castle have only one wall intact, the tower contain basically one room. In 1986 somone removed stones from that room and found wonderful frescos from 1200 century. The paintings ilustrate prominent people who play boradgames and figth in a war.
At the 1100 – 1300 century the Milanian won over the Venezian in a historical battle about Lomabardy in 1439.
After visiting the Arco Castle head south to Limone
Limone is a true gem waiting to be discovered. Day 4: Isola del Garda, and Densenzano
Here is some information about Isola del Garda
Isola del Garda is so beautiful that it attracted medieval saints; Francis of Assisi, Anthony of Padova and Bernadiono of Siena to the monastery that was once there once. The monastery was destroyed by Napoleon but was replaced by a villa with lush gardens that abound. Here you can get a tour today.

The last day: Do all the stuff you want before returning to Verona.
Today is the last day of the “Travelplan 5 days: Lake Garda Getaway.” Your main job is to return the bikes to Pescheira Del Garda and take the train back to Verona as agreed when you rented them. There isn’t much advice for Verona in this itinerary, so if there are summer concerts in the city, we suggest booking a hotel and buying tickets for the concert.
